Labor Warranty Terms

Effective date: August 30, 2026

The Chill Labor Warranty is an optional add-on sold by Chill Mini Splits together with a Chill Protection Plan (the “+ Labor” options on the product page). While the Protection Plan covers the equipment, the Labor Warranty reimburses the labor charges to repair it: when a covered component fails during the plan term, Chill reimburses the cost of a licensed HVAC contractor diagnosing and completing the covered repair, up to the limits below.

This plan is provided and administered by Chill Mini Splits, not by an insurance company, and is not an insurance policy issued under any state insurance code.

Activation — professional installation and registration

Labor coverage activates only when both of the following are completed:

  • The covered system is installed by a licensed HVAC professional; and
  • The installation is registered within 30 days of delivery at chillminisplits.com/pages/labor-warranty-registration, including the installer’s license number and a copy of the installation invoice.

If the system is installed without a licensed professional, labor coverage does not activate. Your Chill Protection Plan equipment coverage is unaffected either way.

If registration is not completed within 30 days of delivery, we automatically refund the Labor Warranty price to your original payment method and the labor coverage ends; the Protection Plan continues unchanged. If your installation was completed within the 30-day window but you missed registering it, contact support@chillminisplits.com — we may reinstate coverage at our discretion with proof of the install date.

Term

Coverage runs for the purchased term — 2 years or 5 years — measured from the delivery date of the covered system, matching the term of the Chill Protection Plan purchased with it.

What is covered

  • Labor charges billed by a licensed HVAC contractor to diagnose a covered failure of the registered system.
  • Labor charges to repair or replace components whose failure is covered by the accompanying Chill Protection Plan.
  • Refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and recharge performed as a necessary part of a covered sealed-system repair, including the refrigerant itself at prevailing rates.
  • Only claims pre-authorized by Chill under “How to file a claim” below are eligible for reimbursement.

What is not covered

  • The original installation of the system, or correction of improper installation.
  • Routine maintenance: cleaning, filter changes, coil washes, seasonal tune-ups, and refrigerant top-offs not associated with a covered repair.
  • Failures the Protection Plan itself does not cover (misuse, accident, power surges, acts of nature, cosmetic issues, consumables).
  • Permits, code-upgrade work, and construction or carpentry needed to access equipment.
  • Travel, mileage, after-hours, or emergency surcharges beyond a standard service call for the customer’s area.
  • Charges billed by unlicensed installers or repairers.

How to file a claim

  1. Before any repair work begins, email support@chillminisplits.com with your order number, the registered installation details, and a description of the problem. We acknowledge every claim within 2 business days and tell you whether the repair is pre-authorized.
  2. Have a licensed HVAC contractor of your choice perform the authorized repair.
  3. Send us the contractor’s itemized invoice showing labor and parts separately, plus the contractor’s license number.
  4. We reimburse approved labor charges to you within 10 business days of receiving the complete invoice. At our option, and with your agreement, we may instead pay your contractor directly.

Reimbursement limit

Total reimbursements over the life of the plan are capped at the price paid for the covered product (the system the plan was purchased with, as shown on the order). Each claim is also limited to reasonable and customary labor rates for the repair performed in the customer’s area.

General

  • The Labor Warranty covers the single system it was purchased with, at the registered installation address, and is not transferable.
  • Cancellation: full refund within 30 days of purchase if no claim has been made; after 30 days the fee is non-refundable (see the automatic registration refund above).
  • The accompanying Chill Protection Plan is governed by its own terms at chillminisplits.com/pages/protection-plan-terms.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
