Does it need an electrician?
Not for plug-in use: it charges from a wall outlet and powers devices plugged into it. Connecting it to your home's circuits requires a transfer switch or inlet box, which should be installed by a licensed electrician.
Will it work with my gas generator?
Anker says the F3000 works with most 120V gas generators that have a TT-30 plug or adapter, using pass-through charging so power isn't interrupted. Set your generator's power rating in the Anker app.
